Drum Roll Please....

Via seaofshoes.blogspot.com

These might actually be the most beautiful shoes I have ever seen. The alligator patterned leather, the bright blue heel backing, the mural on the heel...there is nothing about these shoes that I don't love.

Also, the picture below is from the Harper's Bazaar Japan August 2010 issue, and while the shoot with Patricia Schmid was wonderfully decadent, this picture caught my eye because of its optical illusion-esque effect.

Video Ad?

Rodarte recently released a video for S/S 2010 line, done by Jason Last + art director Jaime Rubiano. When it comes to art, I love anything that strays drastically from the norm. This video definitely fits that description, and it's worth a view. This video does raise an interesting what-if though: What if all fashion lines released a video for their collections, along with the normal magazine-run ad campaign? Showing the clothes in a video shows them in a different light than is seen in a fashion show, and at the same time gives the clothes more life and movement than a picture. Something interesting to consider.

So Inspiring

1. These are stunning. 2. Besides that, I'm speechless.

Zara, June 2010

All via popbee.com

Living in Maine (a state most people mistake as being part of Canada), exposure to fashion is pretty limited. Thank god for fashion blogs is all I have to say! That being said, I keep hearing about Zara, and decided to finally check it out. Their June 2010 lookbook is fantastic! This isn't exclusive to Zara, but I LOVE the heels and socks look, but especially in this lookbook paired with the oversized clothing. The styling is, in my opinion, impeccable, and the hair styling goes perfectly with the clothing; the bun looks so easy to do, and cute at the same time. I think my next fashion challenge is to pair the bun with a bow, it looks adorable and easy.

Stolen Girlfriends Club + Cable Knit Shorts

Speaking of cable knit clothing... After logging onto Bloglovin this morning and seeing Fashiontoast blogger wearing similar cable knit shorts to the D&G romper I wrote about the other day, I immediately started looking into Stolen Girlfriends Club (where her shorts are from). I am so impressed with their clothing and styling, and can't believe I haven't heard of them before! The ruffles, lace, high waistlines, and thick cable knits in their 2010 collections scream feminine. If you haven't been to their website, it's definitely worth a look.

Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2010

Via fashiongonerogue.com

After seeing the D&G fall campaign (done by Mario Testino), I am beyond impressed. A full-bodied crochet skin suit does not scream 'I'm wearable!", but among the snowy mountain scenery, ski gear, and, what's this? Smiling models? the suit actually seemed workable. What I'm in love with after seeing the collection are the crocheted rompers shown in the above picture. I would love to curl up next to a fire with a cup of hot chocolate wearing one of these this winter.
